Gaël Davrinche, Kosta Kulundzic, P. Nicolas Ledoux, Axel Pahlavi, Stephane Pencréac’h et Vuk Vidor se mesurent au temps pour poser les bases d’une nouvelle dimension de la peinture contemporaine: la virtuosité.

Peindre plus vite que son ombre, se mesurer au défi du temps. Dans un monde où les enjeux de la peinture sont mis à mal, où la mort de la peinture est sans cesse annoncée, la galerie présente une exposition au concept original où les artistes sont invités à peindre une oeuvre de même en 99 minutes. Pied de nez à l’éternel question «  Combien de temps ça prend à faire ? », le défi est avant tout un hommage à la peinture. Comment évalue t on la peinture aujourd’hui ? Qu’est ce qui faite la force d’une œuvre? Quels sont les critères objectifs pour en juger? Ainsi, l’artiste face à la toile et au pinceau que peut-il faire en 99 minutes?

Gaël Davrinche, Kosta Kulundzic, P. Nicolas Ledoux, Axel Pahlavi, Stephane Pencréac’h and Vuk Vidor pit their wits against time to lay the bases of a new dimension of the contemporary painting: virtuosity.

To paint faster than its own shadow,to challenge time . In a world where the stakes of painting are worsened, where the death of painting is ceaselessly announced, Magda Danysz gallery presents an exhibition with an original concept in which the artists are invited to paint a same-sized work a in 99 minutes. Cocking a snook at the eternal question  » how long does it take ? « , the challenge is above all a tribute to painting.

How do we estimate painting today? What makes the strength of a work? What are the objective criterias to judge it?  Thus, the artists in front of both canvas and brush, what can he make in 99 minutes? The six works made help the visitors to build a reflection on the pictorial art of the 21th century.

Opening show on Saturday, Feb. 13th from 6pm to 9pm
